Education and Career Guidance

ECG Curriculum

All Ping Yians go through a holistic and rigorous Education and Career Guidance (ECG) programme, as part of CCE. ECG is about equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to make informed decisions at each key education stage for successful transition from school to further education or work, and hence to manage their career pathways and lifelong learning throughout their lives. Through ECG, social emotional competencies and qualities of proactivity, adaptability and resilience are developed to prepare students for the 21st Century.

To enhance students’ confidence, motivation towards excellence and self-directedness in planning for their future through greater awareness of self, and of the larger Educational and Career landscape.

Our programmes are guided by the following objectives:

  1. To increase students’ self-awareness in their strengths, interests and values
  2. To equip students with relevant work and life skills
  3. To increase students’ awareness of post-secondary education pathways and career clusters
  4. To provide opportunities for students to explore the world of work

The goal of the ECG Curriculum is to deepen students’ understanding of self and relate schooling to different education and career pathways. Students would:
    • explore the career world
    • understand the relevant courses of study
    • develop awareness of their skills, interests and values
