Tchoukball is a non-contact territorial invasion game that has taken trend in recent years, and Ping Yi is the pioneer school in bringing this game to our students. Our Tchoukball team has performed well in the national and zonal competitions. The achievements are testament to the hard work and dedication of our Tchoukballers and teachers. It has always been the aim of the Ping Yi Tchoukball Team to develop not only excellent sportsmen and sportswomen but also to develop individuals of excellent character and leadership abilities.
Tchoukball is played by a team of 7 players in a court which is about the same size as the Basketball court. The game is played by both boys and girls but separately. Tchoukball is generally a very safe game as there is no body contact; the opponents are not allowed to intercept or prevent the passing of the ball during play. Points are scored in Tchoukball by throwing the ball at a netted frame, which is placed at the middle at both ends, and when the opponents are unable to catch the ball during the rebound.
Training sessions are conducted throughout the year except the holidays. The competitions for Tchoukball usually take place in Apr/May and Oct periods for the ‘B’ and ‘C’ Divisions respectively.
‘B’ Division Boys: 3rd Runner-up in National Inter-School Tchoukball Competition, 2014
‘B’ Division Girls: 1st Runner-up in Inter-School Tchoukball Competition, 2014
